Speeding up game additions

Hi,
Just a suggestion as I noticed that adding new games takes sometimes forever. e.g. the Touhou games are there already pre 2019 and still not added.
Plus, I do request quite some new games too and I've got the feeling some are overlooked (by VG staff and eventually by me) as they 'sink' deeper and deeper in the forum pit.
My suggestion is to use a picture template (both for the records and batches) e.g. 'VGR added soon'.
This way we don't need to wait for the people copy/paste all the pictures (I guess this is done by different people and takes quite some time). As most of us don't really care about seeing the actual picture of the game.
Just my 5 cents.
cheers

GTi :
Nice Jaguar additions. That system is still on my bucket list (but so expensive)...
I have mine since years, but could not play it because I do not have the alim.
But I finally bought one some days ago, so now I can play it !
But yes, games are expensive, system is also, and to be honest, they are not plenty of good games on it..
Even plenty on game themselves, they are only few compared to sega & nintendo systems

I like your proposal for making things faster.
But I think the actual system for adding games is quite good, even if it takes more and more time now.
This is probably due to the fact that there is:
- many games with a unique score (C64, Vectrex, Jaguar)
- old games with more difficult pictures to find
- many adders, but only 1 designer (kloh)
So, whatever the amount of next games waiting , there always was around 1 or 2 games added per day, and I think that's already nice.
Maybe we should change this if there is really too many games waiting, but if you see the weak number of new generation systems (PS4, XONE), I think the adding system is actually good enough.
So, if you want to help more, you can also propose yourself to become a staff member, and why not a designer if you knows some informatics tools. I think this will be more helpful like this. Because if you let all the people adding their own images, it can create news problems (trolls, game version errors, ...).
PS: I agree for Jaguar, this was/is a nice (and expensive) system, but with less games than Megadrive/Genesis or SNES.

About design part, I manage to produce enough images to publish one game per day (more or less) but some help on this would be really appreciated.
At the moment we're in an unusual situation because there is an enormous number of games but the point is most of them are oldies.
These games are the simplest to add because there are generally only one score so adders can treat a lot of games in a few time. But for design part, an oldie takes five to ten more time than a game for current gen… Indeed it's the worst type of game to make images as it's pretty difficult to find good pictures so it's take a long time to make images (and to search for good pictures first) for one game.

Don't get me wrong,. I really like the graphical touches and do know it's hard working
And I don't want that people add their own templates. Just one generic 'added soon or so.
This way it gives you more time to add the real graphics, more time to do other stuff, and us the immediate time to post the score.
I don't like to pile up my 'to post videos/scores. So it's just probably me
And I am even not requesting all games ... yet
Keep up the good work.
I have two left hands so I don't volunteer for designing.

Concerning the actual waiting list of C64 games proposed by GTi, some people suggested in Discord that there should be 1 topic grouping all the remaining C64 games, to add them faster or definitly.
I would like to add some comments, even if I'm not Adder admin.
First, remember that it's recommended to finish the game that you propose, to make the best and and appropriate proposal (complete records or not, with or without DLC, options, ...)
I don't agree with 1 list of many games, just because Adders should make 1 topic for 1 game, mainly to discuss about it's rules or prooving rules.
When it's done, they move it in the Game forum, and it's always more simple to move a
topic than to create it.
And even if there is faster addings for recent games, you need to consider any game as equal in VGR, whatever the number of records they have. And especially if you never played them, please respect this.
Last, I repeat here that Adders should increase the number of released games, moreover if there there is more than 10 or 30 waiting games. Or recruit more Adders...

You guys are doing a fantastic job, and I am perfectly fine with waiting on the addition of my proposed game Crash 'N' Burn. That forum is there to discuss if the records I proposed are good enough. Unless we can add (lol) more records to that racing game, we could create a new discussion forum after its done. But I agree with Zephyraz, the C64 games I see should all be grouped into 1 special forum of suggesting these games.

Sorry if there is misunderstandings with my english, but on the contrary, I prefer to keep (as now) 1 suggestion per game. I don't want to see a list of games, is it more clear ?

:yum: And i am only requesting the more popular ones as I know it takes some time and effort. That's why I already suggested to just add the game with a generic badge and picture. 99% of the games are also just 'highest score'. My next platform is the MSX or Dreamcast. So more requests coming certainly. I am not doing this to have the most badges. I am not interested in that. I just want to populate this great site with more retro 80 and 90s stuff. Not everyone likes Mario , Pokemon or mobile games :AngryPikachu: . This site should attract more retro guys and girls. Old farts like me .
