VGR's policy, I thought, is not to split games for version differences.  I can post 100 other games with version differences here to split first, but that's not the policy.

There are about 25-30 scores that can only be done in the USA game, and 1 score that can only be done in the EUR game.  The remaining 70-75 scores can be achieved in either version.  A split would result in a USA game on VGR with only 5 players, and would be a joke to see.  I am adamantly against this split and cite VGR's policy once again.  Get the version that will allow you to reach the highest scores in those 25-30 levels.

Seriously if this game is to be split, I will see to it that 50+ more games are split on VGR first, starting with these:

Crash Bandicoot games

And I will see that the policy is officially changed, and that every single new game added here is split if there are any version differences at all.

Usually games here cater to the Euro players, whose PAL format usually results in better times, and American players are screwed.  One game exists (MvsDK) that gives the American players an advantage on just 1/4 of the charts, not the whole game, and all of a sudden we want a split.  It's unfair and I'll see that many changes are made on this site before the split has my support.

Bump. Already 1 month ago...
Now the game is out for free for 3DS, you should do it before people send many records now...

Again, SM64DS and others must join the list.  We will create a VGR with empty wastelands for USA versions.  This will dissuade American players from coming here at all.  If this is the direction things are to go, fine.

Let's make VGR even more deserted; let's split rather than come together.  Let's inspect all games here for USA/EUR scoring differences and make 2 games for every one.  Then the 5 people who frequent VGR on THIS side of the Atlantic, will likely leave due to sparsity of charts.

I'm for not split the game. VGR is here to mix and compare the most of players as possible. Ok there is small différence but we can't destroy a game for that !

In the worst case, we can give 2 Masters Badges and a final chart with a split : EUR / USA. Like the DLC Section on some games.. I don't know it's just a idea

Lol Djon?
The game is currently \"destroyed\", because in a third of the levels European players could never get the best score whatever they do. Because of the several glitches which only work in the US version.

The best thing to do is to separate charts instead of the complete game.

For example GTA Episodes from Liberty City has charts for meters and charts for feet.

The difference are for the complete game, the point is just that in a third of the level they give better scores.

Here is the list of 30 (out of 102) levels that have different scoring possibilities due to slight variations between versions.  They are classified accordingly below.

Following the suggestion above, these could be split into (USA) and (EUR/JPN) options.  -USA, -EUR and -JPN are the codes that are clearly visible on the game cartridge itself; there is NO difference between the -EUR and -JPN games except language.

Ghost Glitch levels (USA >> EUR/JPN)
Maingame
1-2 --> 1-2 (USA) and 1-2 (EUR/JPN)
1-5
1-6
3-2
3-3
3-4
3-6
Plus Levels
1-2+ --> 1-2+ (USA) and 1-2+ (EUR/JPN)
1-3+
3-2+
3-6+
Expert Levels
X-3 --> X-3 (USA) and X-3 (EUR/JPN)
X-9

Timer Differences (EUR/JPN >> USA)
Maingame
2-4

Super Red Shy Guy 'glitch' (USA >> EUR/JPN)
Maingame
4-DK
Plus Levels
4-DK+

Toss-n-Jump req'd and/or level programming changes (USA > EUR/JPN)
Maingame
1-DK
2-2
5-5
6-1
6-3
6-5
6-6
Plus Levels
1-1+
2-4+
6-1+
6-6+
Expert Levels
X-1
X-4
X-7

Personally I am in no rush for this, but if it is to be done, at least it can be done right, and most of the cross competition (i.e. the other 72 of 102 stages) can be preserved.

If anybody thinks they can compete with Prenz's skill in this game, then they should just buy the North American version. GBA and DS are both region free.
