Recently there has been a lot of discussion regarding Guibmon and his records and the fact that he has posted records on PAL games that are unachievable for other PAL users.

He is right to do so. He plays on a game that is classified as PAL, so posting on a PAL game is the right thing to do

However, Brazil uses PAL-M, which is different to regular PAL as it runs at 60hz and not 50hz, the same as NTSC

Recommendation

That all games separated by PAL and NTSC are renamed to PAL - 50hz and NTSC/PAL-M - 60hz.
Example:
F-Zero X (PAL) would become \"F-Zero X (PAL - 50hz)
and
F-Zero X (NTSC) would become \"F-Zero X (NTSC/PAL-M - 60hz)

As well as that, a post on the site rules/site FAQ explaining the change.

Thank you for your time

exemple:
F-Zero X (PAL) deviendrait F-Zero X (PAL - 50hz)
et
F-Zero X (NTSC) deviendrait F-Zero X (NTSC / PAL-M - 60 Hz)

Lol NP that list looks very outdated, it still lists East Germany XD

As i said in the other topic if we already want to improve it, then we should do it correctly.
As NP pointed out there's also SECAM and brazilian game boxes probably say NTSC on the cover.

Hehe, that list posted also mixes PAL-M with other PAL systems - which is exactly the problem already here! damn

I will give you some simple overview advice from my (just under) six years with Twin Galaxies.

60Hz systems: All NTSC systems.  PAL-M systems (Brazil).  European systems with 60Hz option (Dreamcast, PlayStation, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Xbox, Xbox 360, GameCube, Wii) - these optionally play \"PAL\" games at 60Hz.  Most European systems have hacks which can make them play at 60Hz (NES, SNES, N64, Master System, MegaDrive, Saturn, etc..).  Many modern games on Xbox 360 refuse to play at 50Hz on European systems.  Some hacks exist to play 50Hz releases on 60Hz systems but are not 50Hz speed.

50Hz systems: European systems default to 50Hz.  Some hacks exist to play 60Hz games at 50Hz speeds (many genuine Mega Drive releases are exactly this!).

SECAM 50Hz: Atari 2600 has SECAM differences from PAL 50Hz.

Wii Virtual Console mixes games in both 50Hz and 60Hz to play on the 50Hz Wii which can also run the same games at 60Hz...
