I think this site its amazing but i also think that we should get more members and to do so means that we need to promote the site somehow! The social media is an amazing way to do it, if the site grows it would get more donations and most important more records.

VGR already has a Facebook page at least. I don't know about a Twitter or Instagram since I don't use those, and the "Donation Statistics" thing is not updated since new years, so we could have had donations and only the VGR Team would know about it. The Person who updated the Donation Statistics isn't around at the moment.

If you would really like to promote VGR, do what I do and promote it yourself. I go to videos on Youtube on Decent scores of the games I play and invite them to come join VGR. Not all join, but some do. I also invite others IRL, like Family members and friends.

I also agree to recruit more members, with any posssible way !
I'm sure we will find again some nice and motivated people, but the problem is that the majority of gamers simply don't know the existence of VGR.
Social media is a great opportinity to contact more people, and I think any actual member of VGR should at least contact 1 person to visit and/or suscribe here.
So start to promote the site by yourself, as Dark Eon Master said (and as I already made in special events in France) ...

@DEM: by the way, did you speak about VGR in the other site you're member (highscore.com) ?

No, I maintain to think that there is a huge amount of people who are interested in records in video games, and that they could be in VGR if they only know the existence of the site.

After, when they visit VGR, maybe they fear to suscribe when they only possess few games and not hundreds, or if they see that they need to play some categories of game to be in the Tops.
In my opinion, every score that they are proud of, should be in VGR.
And there is nothing to fear if their records are better than people here, so also maybe VGR records are too good for them (and that is a good news for us).
But I prefer not to pretend this, because in some games there is not a big competition

@everfree: I don't understand everything, especially if you miss some parts in your sentences.
You have the possibility to ask for proof if you find not proven 1st places (or less), let's do it.
The records sent here can of course be beaten, I don't understand why you complain about this.
I don't well understand if you know what you are talking about (prejudices, syntax), you are not well placed to be ironic with this... think

I have not formally invited anyone, but I do talk a lot about VGR when referencing my Records as well as how records should be divided and add to that site. I get a different vibe over there, like they wouldn't like this site. It doesn't help that they are used to Fully Proving all their scores, so a place like VGR where they see first places with no proof could push them away. I know of a few good members on HighScore who have checked out the site, but did not register here. When they checked the site, it seemed like the talked about VGR in a tone of uninterest or alienating it, as it was much different from HighScore. I won't discourage anyone from promoting VGR on HighScore, but I don't feel right doing it there myself.

Other than HighScore, I have invited people on other sites, but not like a huge post or anything.
I feel like Making a Big post promoting VGR would be looked down upon on any "Competing" sites, like Highscore, CyberScore, Wii-Records, etc. but it may not be such a bad thing on Facebook Groups or other Social Network sites. I now recall making a Post in 2 groups on FB (one a Pinball Group, the other a Pokemon Shuffle Group), but had little Interest in VGR.

I actually believe that The Majority of Gamers today do not like things like Records or Highscore making. It seems like Nintendo doesn't like it as well going by a lot of their newer games removing many of the aspects of games that made them addable to VGR. Mario Party Games is one of the Biggest examples of this. Fewer Records with each new Game. I feel like to get more members, we must find a way to make Highscore making and Record Breaking, somehow, more appealing to Gamers.

Now that VGR has a new URL adress with videogamesrecords.net, I strongly suggest to all of you to help us to promote the site to a maximum of other persons and friends, with the social media for example.

It is a nice occasion to introduce the site to people, we are searching for new members, for a better competition and fun.
