Larquey

Yesterday, Larquey sent a score + video in Mega Turricane (Megadrive/Genesis/Wii).
I just checked the video yesterday: it briefly shows (during the first seconds of recording) that it has been played on emulator, which is strictly forbidden in VGR.😑
After that, I also saw that Zimer reported it on Discord (so probably saw the video too).

Today, Larquey wrote me, admitting he played on emulator.
He already deleted his video in VGR, and even in his YouTube channel, where he also used to play on emulator for other games.
So, I invited him to explain him here.
Moreover, I would like to know if there is possibly other concerned games on VGR, because he can simply cut the video...
Note that in the past, he already did version mistakes, and I already warned him to be more vigilant.

This problem underlines again the necessity of having Platform Proofs on VGR, and also the "new" problem of grouping original games with Wii like here (because we recently learned that Wii has "pause-savestate" feature).
Platform proofs should be developed in the next months (2021, I hope), and Wii games separation will be discussed in next Council meeting(s).

Désolé, il ne s'agit pas de triche, mais d'une erreur. Seulement sur votre site il est impossible de supprimer un score posté par erreur ou bien je n'ai pas trouvé cette fonction.

Si cette fonction existe, dite moi simplement la marche à suivre.

Si cette fonction n'existe pas, il serait intéressant de l'ajouter.

Je ne/n'ai poste/é aucun score avec triche, mais il m'arrive faire des erreurs car je joue énormément avec émulateur et matériel réel.

Sorry, this is not cheating, but a mistake. Only on your site it is impossible to delete a score posted by mistake or I did not find this function.

If this function exists, just tell me how to proceed.

If this function does not exist, it would be interesting to add it.

I haven't posted any cheating scores, but I sometimes make mistakes because I play a lot with emulators and real hardware.

Ok , thanks for your honesty, and quick answer.

Playing on emulator is forbidden in VGR  (check the Rules, 2.2 chapter).
Even if you said it's an error, it is not acceptable, moreover if you said you used to play a lot with emulator.
I hope for you that you didn't post other scores from emulator... 
Even prooved with pictures, we finally clearly need to develop a new system for proofs, where platform/systems (+games) can be shown. Your case is pointing this problem, thanks.

You can't update a score when you add a proof, it needs to be checked by a Proof Admin.
You can't delete a score, you have to ask to an Admin to do this (as you done).
In some cases, and yours is the right example, this allows us to detect cheats or Rules breaks, and for sure we will not change this. 🤔
Since 2017 you joined VGR, you should know this.

So sorry, but because you used emulator (posted it on VGR), I'm obliged to apply you a 1st level ban of 4 months.
This starts now, so it will end 11/02/2022.
For reminder/information, you are still able of sending messages in VGR, but you can't post new scores until this date.

I hope for you (and possibly others) that it will be enough dissuasive and that you will not post any other record from emulator on VGR.

So you can send again scores from now.
So, now, don't use emulator anymore in VGR, or there will be a new ban (level 2: 1 year).

As mentionned in topic: [Linkers] Atari 2600 report, player Larquey as seen one of his score on Atari 2600 removed. I will check later if more of his scores are using prohibited practices. Note that No ban was applied (see topic).

Larquey's score of 49280 in Mega Turrican (Megadrive/Genesis) was deleted, by the way (emulator use).
Contrary to what TJ7 wrote before, a temporary ban (level 1: 4 months) was applied to Larquey (so, from 11th October 2021 to 11th February 2022).
So, I repeat, the ban period is over since 11th February 2022, and Larquey can post again scores on VGR since this date.
