Hello everyone.
I am new to this site and just posted a record. After doing so I beat that record and went to post it but seem to be unable to do so. can anyone help me out?

Hello RedWolf1423 and welcome on VGR 
You're unable to edit your record if you have a pending proof (blue square).
But you can delete your proof (click on the icon next to the blue square, and you should have a "Delete" button). Then you should be able to edit your record and add your new proof

It depends on how much proofs are pending right now. I don't have access to the proof admin so I can't tell you how is the state of it right now.
But as I told you, you can delete your proof before it is accepted, and edit your record
