Hello !
Let's talk about a new problem nowadays with smartphone games :
Some of them do not exist anymore : you can't find them on the store anymore.

So, what should we do with them then ?

Two options :
- We can delete the game, and all the scores, because nobody could play the game anymore, and no competiton then.
-We can try to make them not count in the leaderboards

What do you think about it ? What should we do ?

For games that doesn't exist anymore, I think it's better to deactivate its records for all the VGR rankings. It's also better to keep open these games rather to delete them totally, because some people took time to add it, to play it, to accept its proofs, ...
Then, VGR should also indicate somewhere (by a different color, tag, window information... ) that the game is deactivated.

I agree with the deactivation idea. Some games may not be on the official playstore anymore, but other stores still have them. In that case I think the game must stay open. Games that is very old and cannot be found anymore, can be deactivated in my opinion.

Then we can already start to make a list of those games.

The idea of seeing with a different colours that they are desactivated is good, and if people have still have it on their phone they can still post on it, even if it will not count on the main leaderboards

I've been able to find apk/ipa files of almost all mobile games on the site, so not being on the official application store is not a death sentence. There are a few that do not seem to be available anywhere, and it does seem like those should be deactivated, but that could also be the result of a slightly erroneous name on VGR, and a more thorough search could probably be done by the person who requested any particular game (who is presumably more familiar with it).

That's why I wanted to make a list.
If we can find apk, then, why not putting them directly on the game (a link sayin for example "you can get the apk here") on VGR.
But for the others, we will have to desactivate them. It may be the best solution

Yes, we really need links to the apk or else many people wont compete on some games. Please do create a list where we can contribute ok

For iOS, appstore is pretty much the only choice to download and install games. So when a game has not been updated to support the latest iOS version by the devs, you won't be even able to start the game, even if you have it installed on your iOS device.

In this case I think the game should be "locked" and should not be counted in any leaderboards. And in case update is available later, it will be possible to "unlock" the game easily.

But what to do if the game is available on android (somewhere from internet) and not anymore on iOS appstore? Should we split them and lock the iOS version? or lock both?

If the game is no more available on Apple Store (for IOS), but available on Android (or somewhere with internet), I think we should split and deactivate only the IOS version.

It means that we need to check and ask every player, in order to know which version he has.
Of course it will take time, and it remembers to all the admins that we absolutely need to put more informations for each game on VGR (like I always suggested since more than 5 years): version, rules, type of pad, difficulty, setups, some important details like glitches, ways for prooving ...).
For the moment, we are far from this status, so let's do this step by step.
