For each game there is a link near the top of the page that says Rules. When you click on that link there are no rules for most games. Does that mean we need to use the default settings or can we change the number of lives, etc?

Specific Game’s Rules have been developed with v7, so in 2021. It partially explains why most of games don’t have specific Rules yet.

When there is no specific Game’s Rules, it simply means that you need to refer to the general Rules.
Then, you can choose the settings/options you prefer (difficulty, type of car, type of weapon, character, number of lives …), if it is not specified/classified in the name of the records (often because you can’t proove the settings).
Please read again the general Rules, because there is also prohibited practices.

If you want to propose specific rules for an existing game, you need to ask all members of this game, and find a majority consensus (more than 50% should agree it) , before applying it.
If you want to propose specific rules for a new game, it will generally be accepted by a Game Admin (if it is not too restrictive, and is easily provable, as always).
