Hello everyone,
On the occasion of the VGR version 7 release, we would like you to participate collectively in the site improvement, especially on the head banner design.
Of course, this topic is far from being one of our development priorities at the moment, as many useful functions present in the previous version 6 are expected to return soon.
But in the meantime, we already want to start discussions and consult with a large number of members over a broader period of time.
Currently, the banner includes 2 characters from the same game: Mario Kart.
In the v6, the banner included 5 different characters.
The new banner will have to represent new and old games, but also reflect some of the most popular games or series on VGR.
So what would be the characters or types of games that you would like to see appear on the banner? Thanks for replying here, in this topic.
If you can, don't hesitate to send your favorite links or images to better illustrate your requests.
The final choice will be announced around June 1st, 2021 and the final banner will be created and implemented within the following month.

À l’occasion de la sortie de la version 7 de VGR, nous souhaiterions vous faire participer collectivement à l’amélioration du site, notamment sur le design de la bannière d’entête.
Bien sûr, ce sujet est très loin d’être l’une de nos priorités de développement actuellement, dans la mesure où de nombreuses fonctions utiles présentes dans la précédente version 6 devraient revenir prochainement.
Mais entre-temps, nous souhaitons déjà lancer les discussions et consulter un grand nombre de membres sur une plus large période.
Actuellement, la bannière comprend 2 personnages issus d’un même jeu : Mario Kart. Dans la v6, la bannière comprenait 5 personnages différents.
La nouvelle bannière devra représenter des jeux récents comme anciens, mais aussi refléter des jeux marquants ou séries populaires sur VGR.
Quels seraient donc les personnages ou types de jeux que vous souhaiteriez voir apparaitre sur la bannière ?

I put a vote on Sonic, because he is faster so it represents the scoring
I would suggest Pac-Man, because it is iconic, and that it has a very long history when it comes to high scores and records.
I agree on Pac-Man but we should also aim for "more recent" games. What about my man Wei Shen ? He's not coming back anytime soon so he may symbolize the games we don't forget.
@ TJ7: Thanks for your proposal, but I sincerly don't think that a character like Wei SHEN, from a unique Sleeping Dogs game, symbolize well the site, or the video games in general.
In your case, because it is a GTA-like, why not propose a Grand Theft Auto character, which is a bigger series (with 17 games in VGR) ?
@zephyraz: It was just a suggestion to see where we're heading. So if we don't aim for "too obscure" game,... What about Johanna Dark from the Perfect Dark series (short hair version if possible) ?

I don't think that a character who appears in few games (2 here in VGR) can be finally selected, or exceptionnally if it fits with next gen systems maybe.
But we will study your proposal, thanks.
Ok, so for the moment, we are only 5 people to be concerned about this ?!?
Representative characters who can be in the future banner are :
-Sonic
-Pac-Man
-Mario
-Mega Man
No other ideas ?
If not, we will discuss about this in Council, and do it without your proposal.

I took in consideration the few feedbacks there and added some fresher references such as Overwatch and Rocket League.
