I open this topic, because by noting the proofs of Skidaddle on Sonic R and Sonic Drift 2.
I had a big doubt about the validity of the proofs, of course there are the screens BUT the thing that bothers me the most is the clarity of the proofs when it is posted for the Saturn and Game Gear versions,
in addition to that, I asked him in PM on 9/12/2022 to ask him if he had the physical versions of the games or to take the evidence with the game box next to the screen or even the console in the case of the Game Gear
and since no response from his art

Cheating? Absolutely not, of course it is Sonic Gems Collection, it is a perfect preservation of the original games. I don't see how an exact copy of a game on a different platform can affect the scores in my favour in any sort of way, in fact, you seem to agree with me because another user playing on Gems Collection, pancakes975, sent proofs from Gems Collection and was approved on Sonic R so I knew I was in the clear. Even if you think another platform to play the exact same game is somehow cheating, you cannot be choosy on who you want to ban and who gets a pass, this is extremely unfair. I get the scores may have to be deactivated but I stand by none of the records should be considered cheating, especially when it's been given the green light in the pass.

pancakes975's accepted proof clearly sent from Sonic Gems Collection: https://www.video-games-records.com/en/sonic-r-game-g3152/time-attack-normal-group-g11529/radiant-emerald-lap-record-chart-c229138/pc-905602/index
Proof that zaph doesn't even know what game I'm being accused of cheating at: https://imgur.com/a/R8kvPHW
I've never even played Wii Fit Plus let alone send "suspicious records" for it. This is very upsetting for me because I've been extremely supportive of this site for years now and this just feels like targeting at this point:(

Thanks for your explanations.
If you're not really familiar with the forum, note that this topic was created to discuss about potential cheating, and note there the potential sanctions.
There is many things that can be considered here, including breaking or bypassing the rules.
Sorry if you did not remarked that we don't talk about "cheats" only...
Notably, if you played on another system than the one where you submit, first we need to check if it impacts the gameplay, or not.
Even if everybody try to make its best when we add a game, some details can be discovered or learned after, despite the Game adders vigilance.
Then, maybe we can discuss again for mixing or splitting game versions, for example.
In your case, you make an error, because you submitted your scores in the wrong version:
- Game Gear for Sonic Drift 2 (rather than PS2/GC)
- Saturn for Sonic R (rather than PS2/GC)
For reminder:
Article 2 – Making and sending scores
2.1 Score validity
To be valid, a score must exactly correspond to the format used to achieve it; including platform, game name, group name and level name.
If you have achieved your score on a compilation game (several games sold in a bundle) you must submit your score on this compilation only, not on the original games.
1) You error could be considered as a cheat, but if there is gameplay differences.
As you said (and as we know), Sonic Gems Collection (PS2/GC) is just a simple copy of the original games, grouped in a compilation game.
So this is finally not a cheat, but just an error.
2) I checked Sonic R, and proofs of pancake975 have the same background as your proofs, so we will consider that he also played on the Sonic Gems Collection.
3) It’s not because pancake975 proofs were accepted that you have authorization to post your scores and proofs on the wrong game. It was an error of a proof admin, this can happen when we don’t know or we don’t own the game, sorry.
Remember that VGR is first based on truth of its members, and that proofs are still not an obligation (but more and more suggested nowadays, due to many problems, like yours).
4) We don’t “choose” who we “want” to ban, it depends of the situation and the gravity of the broken rule. Like in life, justice is also functioning like this, and also make sometimes errors. We are all human, and we act as fair as we should.
5) Sorry for my game name mistake, I just copy/paste another message, and did not checked it again as I usually do. 😒
At least the link was correct.
6) Note that I’m particularly busy 😓 at the moment, and sad to see again this type of error, which gives us (or me) always more “work”.
In general, there is no problem to deal this in another context, actually, I can understand and tolerate such errors or absence of vigilance.
But these last days (or even weeks) are special for me, thanks for understanding.
7) Conclusion:
You did not cheat, because there is no difference in the gameplays between the compilation game (Sonic Gems Collection, PS2/GC) and the game where you wrongly posted (Sonic R, Saturn; Sonic Drift 2, GG)
You made post/record localisation errors.
So, don’t worry, you will not be banned for this.
Your (2+25) scores (+proofs) will be moved on the right place, so Sonic Gems Collection.
Based on your comments that we trust, the 16 scores of pancake975 (on Sonic R) will be moved also on Sonic Gems Collection (and he will be warned about that).
8) These actions will be made on January, probably, I think.
Thanks for understanding our busy planning.
Please indicate us now if you made such mistakes elsewhere in your games collection, or if you know that other members also made such errors.
In the next future, I invite you to read the Rules again, to contact an admin, or to write in the forum if you have any doubts about the version of the game you played.
It’s not an obligation, but I also invite you to mention your system when you post a score, and proove your owned systems (with another picture, grouped and next to your score proof), in order to avoid such misunderstandings, and possible future problems.
Communication will always avoid possible misunderstandings, and putative work for all admins.
Thanks for understanding, and for noting that we continue to need people recruitment in the VGR admins team, in order to stay active and vigilant, and to deal every case with a reasonable timing. 😉
Every actions has been made. Skidaddle and pancake974 scores has been moved into the right game.
Yuri.
