I have noticed that xdman has submitted many times for Sonic Advance achieved using a cheap trick that isn't possible to do on Time Attack mode and diminishes competition on time and score charts. The best solution to fix this partially is to rename Sonic Advance's time charts, replacing "Time" with "Time Attack", and to delete xdman's times that use that trick, which are, as far as I know, the following:
- http://www.vgr-fr.com/index.php5?c=record&id=4646
- http://www.vgr-fr.com/index.php5?c=record&id=4647
- http://www.vgr-fr.com/index.php5?c=record&id=4648
- http://www.vgr-fr.com/index.php5?c=record&id=4650
I hope that this issue is resolved soon, because allowing this trick would be really bad for Sonic Advance competition.
I think we must make two groups :
time - normal game
time - time attack
I disagree. Getting good times in Game Start mode involves using a trick that is long, boring and diminishes competition. If a game has a Time Attack mode, that's the mode that should be used for times competition (with rare exceptions like Burnout 2).

Yes, they are legal, but I think that they shouldn't because of the aforementioned reasons. I have written this topic to change that. The charts have been on VGR for years, and only you have submitted times using that cheap trick. That means that possibly most Sonic Advance players agree with me.

It's not a TAS OmegaKnuckles , it's the Time over trick and it's legal on VGR :

You would have to delete a massive amount of records for a massive amount of games in that case.
Like xdman has said, niconoe, arcade and sonic all said they were legal(although I don't see them as good records) but they are legal, so I accept it

I am talking about Sonic Advance, not all the games on VGR. By the way, Arcade agrees with me about this Sonic Advance issue.

Like I said, this trick is allowed on VGR, and that's also the "tilt" which engaged me to not continue the competition on these games, 'cause it ruins the skill-type of this charts, and I'm very disappointed by all this...
And for Sonic Advance, it is so harder than the genesis' Sonic games to make a real time attack record, that I admit that I'm fed up with this trick contaminating the competition on Sonic games here...
So, this trick is allowed, but I really think that we'll lost a lot of real Sonic speedrunner on VGR...
Edit : arcade is ok to separate records made in the normal game and the time attack mode?

My point was that if you delete one set of records for it, you have to delete all records for it on the grounds of consistency. It can't be one rule for one game, a different one for all the others
My comment about arcade was based on the topic xdman linked to, so if it is inaccurate now then i apologise
