Bonjour.

Hi,

You might know, Pokemon X/Y will be released soon.
So, I've got an idea : To make a WGR Pokemon X/Y Tournament, to see who is the best trainer (and mastermind) of this forum.

The tournament rules are not fixed yet, but I 'm thinking of a pool system, with quarter finals, semifinals...
The Trainer's Teams are known only 24 Hours before matchs. Changing teams between matchs are unauthorized, but trainers can change teams between phases. I will edit this message at every rules change.
Also, some pokemon will be banned.

If you want to participate, submit an idea, a rule...don't hesitate.

Adn for the date...maybe end of February (Approximatly the 24...?)

Oh yeah.

Some other pokemon banned from Tournaments I don't remember.

EDIT : Wobbuffet added. Thanks for the advice.

I would look at smogon for their banlist as well, as there are other pokemon banned from competitive play(a kingdra with swift swim is unbeatable for example, blaziken with its dream world ability too etc.), and nintendo use that site for a lot of competitive things.

I would consider banning everything in smogon's "uber" tier as they are separated for good reason. Also consider that not all legends are incredibly strong, mew, latios and kyurem-b for example are just three legends that are not overly powerful.

EDIT: This is the ban list I would use
Arceus-Bug

Arceus-Dark

Arceus-Dragon

Arceus-Electric

Arceus-Fighting

Arceus-Fire

Arceus-Flying

Arceus-Ghost

Arceus-Grass

Arceus-Ground

Arceus-Ice

Arceus-Normal

Arceus-Poison

Arceus-Psychic

Arceus-Rock

Arceus-Steel

Arceus-Water

Blaziken

Darkrai

Deoxys

Deoxys-A

Deoxys-D

Deoxys-S

Dialga

Excadrill

Genesect

Giratina

Giratina-O

Groudon

Ho-Oh

Kyogre

Kyurem-W

Landorus

Lugia

Manaphy

Mewtwo

Palkia

Rayquaza

Reshiram

Shaymin-S

Thundurus

Tornadus-T

Zekrom

Also:

Kingdra

http://www.smogon.com/bw/banlist/

The link is smogon's banlist. I would look at that and evaluate what you would and wouldn't put in, although consider that they are in that for good reason.

Personally I would ban Stealth Rock as it makes multiplayer incredibly uninteresting, but that's just me.

For the record, i like your idea smile

That seems too complex on their website. I will add some of them. thanks for the returns.

EDIt : I have slighty added some rules, check it out ! =D

EDIT : another memeber has warned me about 5G rules, especially some non-unique pokemons banned, and some skills / moves / held objects banned. Don't worry, I will update this topic with this, to have a mix between fun and tournament, to have a 6G tournament ready.

The use of Stealth Rock can be an important part of the strategy in some team, it shouldn't be ban. (it is actually not banned in official tournaments)
If this technique bothers your team strategy, take a rapid spinner to cancel the adverse rocks.

But I really like this idea, it sounds cool.

I was being more facetious than anything, i wasn't actually suggesting it should be banned, it bothers me that a single move almost single-handedly determines the mp tiers

Quelques Questions / réponses / Some answered questions :

-Why waiting Feburary ? / Pourquoi attendre Février ?
It's enough time to finish game + catch and train 6G pokemon + transfer from older versions.
C'est assez de temps pour finir le jeu + transférer des générations prcédentes + choper en entrainer des poké 6G

-Date d'ouverture des inscriptions / Tournament registering date : Starts January, the 14th. (14 Janvier) Closes in January, the 31th.

I got also an idea of dates, let me know if it's good, suggests...
The Tournament will launch Feburary 2014, the 21th. It closes on March, the 9Th. It comes on saturdays, because if some players have school ^^

Eliminating pools : Feburary 21-23 2014 (Between this dates, the players will fix some appointments to fight ^^)
Quarter Finals : March, the 1st, 2014 [21h]
Semi Final : March, the 8th, 2014 [21h]
The Final : 15 March 2014 [21h]

Semi Finale 8 Mars 2014, 21H
Finale 15 Mars 2014 , 21H

If we have more people than expected, the tournament will have his structure changed, and might be finishing more later. Stay tuned, I work on it !
Si on a beaucoup de participants, on changera peut etre de structure, et ça durera plus longtemps, a voir,j'y travaille !

This is a cool idea. I am not good at Competitive Pokemon Battling, but I do enjoy playing. I Will join only if there needs to be another player to balance the number of players so it can be even. smile

The clauses you need to add:

Item clause
Status clause
OHKO clause

These are all official rules.

Also, include myself and ciarajansonfan as participants

For the moves restrictions, I've decided of a rule written before : A same move cannot be known by two pokemon or more. So, only one of your pokemon can have an OHKO or other. It's a question of luck if the move success. Personally, in my teams, every pokemon has different moves, nobody share the same move with another.

For items, I will wait the 6G, as I say before, wait and see if the 6G can rearrange and reduce some cheated combos pokemon + items

Also, maybe I will make a rule : 3 matchs between two contestants, 2 winnings required to win the duel.

The item clause is that only one of each item can be held by a team
The status clause is that only one pokemon can be under sleep, poison, burn or paralyze. The exception is sleep if dark void is used(although darkrai is banned, we can't guarantee that a 6th gen pokemon will learn it.

The reason i mention them is because they are official competitive rules

To elaborate on what richard said, the status clause means that no two pokemon can be under the same status. Also, you have to ban a smeargle that has dark void as this violates this clause

UP

So, some people have the game, me too. I will upgrade the rules soon, to ban OHKO moves and sleep/ice status moves (only 1 pkmn/team can be asleep/frozen).

And also, ban some pokemon with specifics skills (Torchic family with Turbo, for example).

I will make a PDF fils with updated rules, submit your ideas !

I had a few ideas.

1. Team have to be submitted through PM to you before the matches except yours which needs to go to a neutral person. Submitting the teams on here would ruin the surprise and give the second team an advantage.

2. I need to edit this message when I remember the rest of my post lol
