Hello!

Welcome to Version 7 of Video Games Records!

As you can clearly see, the site has been updated again after a few days of being down. Something a lot of people complained about recently was that you couldn't use a video as proof. Hopefully, though, that issue is now fixed, as well as some other minor problems. On the right, you can see that there are other social medias linked. Some other things have been changed or added as well, so it might take a while to get used to it. I'm gonna miss V6, but the new layout looks pretty cool. As I am typing this (January 22, 2021) the site still looks a little unfinished, but that will probably be sorted out within the next few days.

Take care, and stay safe throughout the current global events. :)

Thanks, and welcome to the new version 7 !

After many months delayed, it's finally there.

But there is a lot of bugs and important missing stuffs.

Basically, most of the tools and stats that we liked so much in the v6 can or will appear again.

We will discuss about this in the next days and weeks, in the forum or internally.

Don't hesitate to use again the VGR forum, it is well done and appropriate for classifying all your messages and suggestions.

Admins are already trying to improve the situation (or come back to what made v6 strong and useful).

Any member can contibute to this, so thanks for any help and constructive suggestions.

Hello everyone, congratulations on V7.

@shrouwehkuggah,

  • you can write a message clicking on the bubble speech icon in the top right corner of the webpage (private messages). There you click on Post (over the top of your messages, near inbox), you just begin to type the name of the recipient and it will find it automatically.
  • I don't know where you see platform ranking but from what it sounds like it would be the highest rank by platform (e.g: Playstation, Xbox 360, PC, Amstrad,...) by default it seems the platform list leads you to nintendo Switch.
Nevermind I've found it, neat !
  • I don't think you can currently see the latest activities except for the "videos" on the left column <---- I guess all those are proofs. You can also comment them !
  • I don't think there is a global view of your records anymore. Maybe it'll come back later.
  • I'd also like to know where we can check when a record was made. It looks like it's still taken into account in the records so it should be back ?

  • It should look like this:

TJ7 thanks for your reply

now i know how to make private messages

platform ranking is the first point in big news

https://postimg.cc/sMMzjNnH

i thought there could be a top list of the players of each system

e.g. the best c64 players ps2 players and so on

For platform rankings, it seems that you didn't understood how it works.

It is due to a temporary situation, we continue to discuss about that because it is not a simple improvement for v7.

Now, you can check platform rankings in Menu/Games/Platform list.

By default, there you can see the Switch Game list (hmm, it seems that developers liked this one).

Then, on top of the page you can click on the link for Leaderboard.

After, it calculates the actual Switch ranking, by order of PointsRecords obtained in this platform, if you mentioned it or not in your collection.

If you want to check other platforms rankings (like PS2 or C64), then click on the specific colored platform button link.

Actually, this is really more easy on PC version of VGR (on the right side), than on smartphone (on the bottom, where you are obliged to scroll and scroll and scroll above to see the platform selection). This is reported and should have a better evolution, soon or later (we need to fix more important problems first, thanks for understanding).

Other details:

- the actual rankings are in RecordsPoints, but it should be in GamePoints. Some people proposed to do it also with Cups or BadgesPoints, we will study this also later.

- the way of calculation is now made with full members data, even those who never logged since a long time. These one will never mention and choose the platform they played, if it concerns a multiplatform game, that's why we prefered this solution for the moment.

We are discussing how improve these rankings, for example by doing rights to admins to choose the platform, if this is obvious with proofs.
