Someboby added recently some records to the game Sega Rally Championship, which is a good thing.
It concerns the “tuned” cars categories (where there is manual settings).
But for the moment, when you look at some proofs already sent, some records need to be moved in this new category, and it's strange that the person who asked this modification did nothing.
If you don’t know the game, it concerns all the records where there is an orange square (on the right side of the record), like here:
records of Eddy1982and Vladimyrkr need to be moved in the section Desert 3 laps
Others proofs like this one (for Eddy1982) need to be deleted, or probably moved also (we don't know if the fastest lap was made with a tuned car or not).
Due to the complexity of the task
, I propose to contact each member by PM, and then everyone can put the correct record at his place, with or without the corresponding proof.
Even if they are mainly old members, at least they will know that. After, if nothing is done, then an admin must take care of this.
Should I contact them?
Of course, this type of problem can happen when the adding of the game was not appropriate.
That's why it is really important that everyone need to check any new game proposal !
Hopefully, there is "only" 54 records in this game, and not hundreds or thousands...

I'd like to point out that, from my understanding of the game at least, Tuned is not the same thing as using MT (which is Manual Transmission). I do agree there are proof issues, but not exactly in the manner you described.
To use the same examples you did, you cannot tell from Eddy1982's proof on Desert 3 Laps if he used a Tuned vehicle or not, even though you can see he used MT.
For comparison, dwnstroy's proof on Desert Fastest Lap clearly shows that Standard/Tuned and AT/MT are different settings (and are saved separately).
Most proofs are lacking the necessary info to be able to establish which settings were used, such as all of ProfRipley's proofs (check either of the previous two records).
Using the previous examples again, the best proofs are Vladimyrkr's, as you can see track, vehicle and setting on the top and the type of transmission used for each record. dwnstroy's proof for the Fastest Lap is also acceptable, as the track is visible on the bottom right, and you can see he selected AT, so all records listed are AT (even if you can't see the small box to the right of his lap time).
As for possible charts, I'd say we could add the following groups for Time Trial for each vehicle: Standard/AT, Standard/MT, Tuned/AT and Tuned/MT.
Also, "Forrest" is misspelled in every group and should be "Forest".

I don't agree, because with the tuned car, the MT square is orange; and blue if he used a standard car. I will check this again, but I'm 95% sure of that.

This proof is not acceptable because the fastest lap (52"77, on the right) picture don't show if the car is tuned (orange square) or standard (red square). This is visible for 3 laps, but not for the fastest lap.

I agree this, this needs to be done finally.
I asked for a modification of the records groups here.
NB:I just regret that all my records from this game were not saved in the memory battery CR2032, which naturally crashed in 1998, because this game was the first I well "worked".
Since this dramatic problem for me, I write every record on paper.

To respond to your reaction to the first two quotes, if you look at the proof I linked in that second quote again, you'll see that dwnstroy has selected Standard in the options on the top part of the screen, so it seems logical to me that all listed times on screen are Standard, not Tuned. This would mean that the color of the square doesn't indicate whether it's Standard or Tuned like you state in your response to the first quote, so Eddy1982's proof is still inconclusive.
16/10/2013 11:16
OK, I know what you mean.
The dwnstroy proof shows he selected Standard car on the top part of the screen (with the light white border).
I thought there were both Standard and Tuned in this picture, but I was wrong. This is due to bad reflects on the screen picture, because all the AT squares are red, and not some red and some orange like I thought.
For this reason, it is important for controllers to refer to the top part of the screen. Thanks to you to have pointed this.
But I checked this yesterday, and now I' m 100% sure of that:
- for Standard cars, AT squares are in red, MT squares are in blue
- for Tuned cars, AT and MT squares are in orange
That means that for Eddy1982's proof, it is conclusive, even if we don't see it written in the top part of the screen: he used a tuned car because the MT square is orange (like all the others in this example).
That's why we can surely dissociate the records, but the problem will be now to order the records with no proofs !
When the modifications will be done, I think I will write to all the players where we can't know the record category. It will not be easy, but now that Tuned and Standard records are still mixed, this is important to have a real ranking for this game.

Lafungo :
Alright, thank you for checking that.
Perhaps you could provide some sample proofs for each category so that proof controllers can have a reference then?
Yes, I already thought to this. I will do this when the records modifications will be done.
This is a good occasion also to say again that VGR needs a kind of window info for each game, to indicate rules, settings, diverse informations and proof details that are required.
I will be really helpful for everybody.
I proposed that 2 years ago, and some controllers want this also.

OK, now, almost 4 months later, the problem can be solved.

I sent a Personal Message to the 15 others players of this game, in french and/or english.(huge)
Now, this needs to be done:
1) All the not proven scores of the game can be deleted now.
Sorry for this radical (but clean) option, but it is now impossible to know in which group these records belong.
I checked every proof (huge again
) of the game to keep a copy or the correct place where these shown records should be (will be) moved after.
Then, if one prooved record still remain in the bad group, I will advert you that it can be also deleted.
2) After step 1), every player is invited to resend their records, in the good category of course.

Great work zephyraz! I have another issue to bring up however: during a discussion with a Sega Rally Championship player that I know from another site, it was brought to my attention that the Stratos vehicle can't be tuned, a statement that seems to be confirmed by morgan_freeman's proof for this chart.
This would mean that the Stratos Tuned AT and Stratos Tuned MT groups should be deleted.

I did not noticed this detail, thank you for that.
EDIT: I checked that yesterday (30/01), but I can't see this detail because my console battery is new and all my old records and unblocked cars were deleted.
But I trust your info, don't worry.
Now, I agree to delete Stratos Tuned AT and Stratos Tuned MT groups.
By the way, good news: Barthax and Vladimirkr answered my PM, they know the global problem now.
Barthax has only 1 record, made with AT, OK.
Vladimirkr made a copy of his proofs and will resend his scores+proofs when the first deletion step will be done.

Thank you.
For sure, this MB ranking is totally wrong due to this problem. I hope it will be fixed soon.
You can already put your tuned records in the right place, but please proove them !
Because all the not proven scores will be deleted for the old (actual) version of the game.
Still now (6 months later...
), we just need to wait that an admin take cares about this...
After, when the problem will be solved, then I will contact you to advert of any change, don't worry.

Ok no worries and thank you, but all my records are prooved and done with a real Saturn console and with a non-tuned Celica. I think you were advicing eddy1982 maybe. Hope this will be fixed soon.
Hope some people will put some new record and fastest lap with the celica non-tuned on sega rally. I personaly stopped playing.
Kinda out of topic, but the best fastest lap I have ever seen on the Desert with a Celica non-tuned (with video proof and done with a Saturn console) is 0'52"63 done by Mr.Landale (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pdX_7Mrfs9w).
Something that should be considered also is that some people like eddy1982 play on a tuned car but also play on a PC emulator... a new section can be done for that I think maybe. It's definitely not the same thing, so no point of him being on the same section as me and other people.

MEMO
To me:
1) List all people who submited scores on Sega Rally Championship and have at least 1 unprooved score on this game.
2) Delete all scores without proof on this game
3) Update the whole game
4) Update all people listed in 1)
5) Delete Stratos Tuned AT and Stratos Tuned MT groups
6) Re-Update the whole game
To BlackShark:
1) Delete all Sega Rally Championship scores for eddy1982
2) Ask him list of emulated games he played and submit scores to VGR by PM (only if last log is less than 1 month)
3) Prevent him from posting new scores until he doesn't explain why he posted emulated score while it's stricly forbidden
I'll try to do my part within the next 36h.
Sorry for the delay.
