This is the English version of Calcul des points : la faille.
The topic is about all of the maxed records in Super Smash Bros Brawl, and how many points each player earns for the mass tied records.
I propose a limit on how many points a maxed/mass tied record can earn, ten people could be tied for 1st and then the points would stop rising.

The function I found isn't optimal
We are trying to find a better function, with a high level of mathematics.
I can't explain that in english because I actually don't really understand in french ! lol
If you want to get a look, go in the french topic. Even if you don't understand anything, there are pictures and graphs so you will understand a little :)

I think if we remove those maxed records, the site will have to remove all maxed records overall....it takes some amount of skill to get the 999, not everyone has it on the charts. PLus, think of it this way: if another chart or group of chrarts starts to be easily maxable and have a lot of players, the debate will start again. I say that every maxable chart should be kept on, unless there is only one possible score you can get (currently a topic about this, some fishing score).

Webinator: No offense, but nearly a full half of your 700,000 VGR points are from the 35 maxed out Training Mode charts on SSBB. Don't you think that's messed up? You have hundreds of records and 1st place scores, but it's those 35 scores that put you over 500,000 points, that's for sure.
So I'm not surprised you want to keep them. It would be nice if people were more objective about this.
Right now, let's be honest, the Training Mode charts on both SSBM and SSBB give 500,000points, more than most players without these games will EVER have on VGR.
You have to be first place on a massively competitive game like WarioWare: Touched! to get 500,000 points!!! But 35 quick scores and it's the same thing?!?!
It's a joke. Seriously, can we just get rid of the Training charts once and for all. Of course people with most of their points from them want them.
They are TRAINING after all, TRAINING for REAL HIGH SCORING.
They are also make the scoring system here a JOKE. It's true.

I Think that the best thing to do is a Max. Number of points in Charts where all are firsts.
Example: There are 40 People With the same score, Everyone of them Will Take 3000 Points, And will be the same score if another person comes.
Better Example:
30 people = 3000 points (For Everyone)
31 People = 3000 Points
102 People = 3000 Points
In the case the 90% Is First.

Prenz :
I don't think any major overhaul to the system is necessary. It's just the problem of two groups of charts that really screw it up. Why look to change the system? It may be too difficult.
You're Right for me it's Ok This Scoring (Because i Have a game that give a lot of points with high scores). I Said just an alternative. If the system will don't Change it's better.
(I Said it because they wants o change them)

If theses charts break the scoring system, it's because de scoring system does not react well in this case, so we must ameliorate it.
We will try to made this, but before we need a new programming code for VGR, programmers work on this for many months.

That's exactly what I suggested a few months ago (3 separate times) on the French topic.
A simple limit to tied records is all you need.
The Brawl problem has spread to this game as well. The solutions are posted on GameFAQs which makes an easy 120 golds, 300,000 points.

Wow....kinda don't know how to respond to that. What I\"m saying is, I think that the charts should be kept, it is a record oppurtunity (i.e. not everyone has 999) but the system should be changed so it can account for it. What you're saying is to delete the charts, but more games like this will arise that will be debated about in ways like this unless the main scoring system is changed.
VGR has been known to be a side with many varying games and charts, and I think that removing these would lower that aspect. However, I do agree that too many points are being given out, I'm not trying to protect my score (lol?) I propose that depending on the number of maxes on the chart, you get a sum of points. Would work out something like this (although the amounts will be off):
2-10 ties for first--25.000
11-25---22.500
26-50---20.000
51-100---17.500
100+---15.000
The system would be descending because more people maxing the chart means its easier to max, thus requiring less skill and deserving less points.
