[Discussion] Super Mario Bros. (NES)

As you probably have noticed I'm playing this legend of super mario, and then i decided to open this thread to discuss about glitches in-game, time-trial hints and every funny stuff about this game.
Ok, I'll start burning this topic:

2Day while I was playing 4 speedruns I discovered a strategy and I think it'll be possible to beat Zimer on 3-1.

If you have anything to say about this game post it here ;)

Ah, I get Zimer's 371 strat there, there is a problem that you are stuck due to the last 2 enemies.
You jump on one, then you're stuck for a second which is lame, if you jump too soon, you die.
So, currently I'm trying to get a strat for this, I'll notify you when I found it.

I just got 371 on 3-1 -_- it's really hard that jump trick without getting stuck -_-

The hard part is going there with my \"route\", and then the koopas are no problem.

Yes I have it all.
The SMB2 (Japan) If I'm not in mistake you can push the little grasses and then throw some \"vegetables\" to enemies right?

No, that's just in the normal version, in SMB2 (Japan) is called Super Mario Bros. The Lost Levels, it was never released outside of Japan until the Wii came out.

It's just like the regular SMB but just harder and more challenging, even if you start speedrunning at the checkpoint.

Also, you can play with Luigi, which allows you to jump higher, his disadventage is that he can't stop instantly to avoid enemies.

Also, if you finish the game 8 times I think, you get a star, this unlocks world A, B, C and D.
On the All-Stars version, you're just taken to world A if you've finished the game once.

You can also unlock world 9 but you are not allowed to warp at all. For Game Overs I'm not sure.

The lives trick can already be done in 1-1.

On 3-4 If I start the level with a mushroom or a fire flower and loose it in some fire I'll loose any seconds?

Whatever I already did it. I had a lot of luck on the last 2 fire spliters from lava. (I never knew the name
