I'm sorry to say France won't win a world cup until Zidane doesn't get the post of head coach. A certain level is present but the squad shows too much weaknesses, plays so much matches while being very very dominating but with a poor ratio of succeed opportunities and makes disappointing scores...

All that to say that you will be numerous to have a wrong prediction about the winner of the tournament... I nevertheless support my country but the world glory isn't yet for this year. I am very (perhaps too much) optimistic by predicting France going as far as final.

Though, may the best team win! ok

You are pessimist Tomgeek.
We have to believe in our team, and their players! Even if I don't agree with all the choices (Giroud, Pogba..)

However, on the meantime, Russia leads by 2/0!

I think putting the french team on a pedestal can't help them, they have to keep humble and keep aware of their recuring counter performances that won't be inconsequential and in such a big tournament, this type of errors won't be forgiven.

I have to add that I already hate the Russian team that score one more goal at the 94th minute that cancel my prediction which was hitherto exact. I bet 10€ on "Russia score 4 goals" with a odd of 22/5 (5.40), it was so close to succeed.

I'm pessimist with Mexico. Germany will win its match at least 4-0 against my country, Mexico.

Mmmh, Germany isn't as good as before: in friendly matches, a thin score against Saudi Arabia, a defeat against Austria (anyway I regret this team isn't qualified, because there is a certain level. It's a pity that almost all players come from german clubs, they should have to trust players from Salzburg, Sturm Graz & Rapid Vienna...)

Despite some wins against medium teams, they still have homogeneous stats and testify their drop in level.

It's funny you all predict a draw, 2-0, 1-0 or victory of Russia by a difference of one goal. I have felt that this country of corrupt (cf. Russian Premier League) will thwart the expectations after some disappointing friendly matches lol

Well, that was unexpected, but that was a correct match, with wonderful goals of the russian team !

And Tomgeek, you forgot one thing : Germany is a team of world competition.
They are always here. always good. Always hard to play.
Of course they are one of the best team at this world cup, and they will gain in power (?) match after match.

Besides, I don't really like the french team atm, and the world aroun Mbappé.. anyway, just hope the best for my country is at least the first help for them.
I'm really objective with that ^^

Basile : indeed the Germany is clearly among the odds-on favorites, it's after all a great country in the football world. But the team has changed since 2014, and despite the new hope Timo Werner – that showed himself in his best lights these two last years among Leipzig – the new recruits are in my opinion not as good as the players whose they took the place (I think of Schweinsteiger, Podolski, Götze, Höwedes).
Also, they only have two real forwards (specialists in this position), it's maybe sufficience cause they play in 4-2-3-1 but if one is wounded or tired, it will be a shame and it will impede good rollings.

I think the team isn't as good as 2014 and maybe either as at the Euro 2016. I was talking about France team which is not good enough to win the cup, yet I consider it has a serious chance to win against Germany if their destinies meet.

To finish I wish their head coach Joachim Löw bought more comfortable boxers lol

Tomgeek dont underestimate our French team, we have one of the best team with Brasil, Germany, Spain... thats why we are favored to win! Deschamps is able to do great things with this team, which is better than euro 2016 (btw dont forget we had beaten Germany :D).
I believe in the French Team, that's why i bet France

The thing I wanted to say his, no matter what team Germany have, you ALWAYS have to deal with them because this is a team of competition. They are prepare for it, and good for it.
Do not focus on the match before, now it's real robot

And that's this"real" thing that will make the difference against some young or unexperimented team, to my mind..
And that's why I'm a ltttle bit affraid with the french team.

Wait and see..

Basile: In sport all is possible, even if all conditions have been met to have a great course or conversely a bad course, an unexpected destiny can happen.

The thing I insist on is that countries like France and Germany should be less odd-on favorite than expected, although they can still win ok

(and conversely with the case of Peru which is underestimate whereas they didn't loose since 15 matches by playing against good teams, and their last defeat dates back the confrontation against Brazil)

BlackShark: I just notice your predictions, that shows you are really a math teacher happy
No predictions of draw because it only happen 1/4 of the time and only predictions of the two most recuring score with one and two goals of difference. You are ingenious. Let's see if the risks beat the statistics^^
