Hi guys,
I wanna point out what i noted in this game.Like some of you said, the score it depends only by the time you make. However (and here is the nasty fact) you can gate the SAME score by making a time inside 10 hundreths.
Example : first level you can make a score of 32 by making a time between 1.80-1.71
A time of 1.70 will make you get a score of 33.
The very bad thing is that the game saves only your first time you set,so if you are unlucky and do a 1.80 (worst time possible to get 32 points) you will have to keep that time for the rest of your life because you can't improve it anymore (not because you really can't but because the game won't save any other time till you won't make a time that puts you in conditions to get a score of 33) .
Meaning once you set 1.80 or you get 1.70 (or better) or the game won't save any other new time.
So basically is a huge mess.
For my best thing will be to eliminate last number in times submissions : so 1.7x will become simply 1.7 .Sure will be more ties but,but believe me the game will be competitive even this way.And some times are really hard to get even if this way may seems easier. This way we can avoid this "bug" let's say.
Any feedback from competitors or mods is very appreciated.

OMG, that explains why I could not get a time of 1.75 on Level 1! :surprised:

Yes guys unfortunatelly is like that.So for all is same.At least we are in same conditions.
Guys what do you think of my suggestion? Meaning to cut last number from time and round down. This way we can compete all.
If no all this times we set are kinda useless because is all about luck on your first good run :(
And this is not fair ...

I just finished the game a second time and I can say again that no other element that the time does get extra points.
On the issue of time not saved... I still think we have to keep time, after all.
In my opinion the points must first break the tie and then, the time (as we suggested at the beginning). A person who noticed that it have the same points but a longer time will acknowledge the bug and if it wants to improve it, take the initiative to restart the game specifically for this record. :ok:
Sure, it is annoying and inconvenient, but it can not be otherwise for some records. I'm sure there are similar issues on other VGR games. :well:
For newcomers who are unaware of this problem, simply create an informative topic on the Shift Extended forum. A person who tries a lot of times a level but failed to improve his time going to ask questions. And without making a great looking, it will find the forum and understand.
My opinion is that times are very important because they are accurate and can differentiate the best players. On the other hand, from a certain level, the complexity of the game makes that the difference between players's time is large enough that there is also a difference of points. So, after all, it is perhaps not so important... :hum:

Summary of the problem :
- scores only depend on times, so it is useless to keep both categories
- times are more precise than scores
Example : first level you can make a score of 32 by making a time between 1.80-1.71
- the game only saves your record if you get a better score, not a better time
Example : first run you get 32 with a time of 1.80 - if you get 32 with a time of 1.75 (better) during a second try, it is not saved
Solutions :
1/ regroup scores and times in one chart, sorted by score and then time
Problem : if you just improve your time without your score it's not saved on the game.
2/ only keep the scores charts
Problem : more ties and less competition.
My opinion :
The problem of time not being saved already exists with the current separated time charts.
So solution 1 shouldn't be a problem.
