It's an extreme method as it punishes legitimate players who are no longer active. Don't get me wrong, I can prove all my platinums, I just think it's a stupid idea. I don't even think you have thought it through:
Have you considered that uploading video proof takes ages?
Have you considered that the proof admins are already 2 weeks behind with proof, and that this system will double that?
Have you considered people don't want to wait 2 weeks for their score to go up?
Have you considered the change to the points formula that would be required?
Have you considered the video proof system isn't even active yet?
Have you considered the fact that just because a score isn't proven, it doesn't mean it didn't happen?
Don't answer that, I know the answer is \"no\". There is the idea that proof is required for platinum(although I think the person who is pushing that thinks it will catapult them to top of the rankings), but your idea shouldn't even be considered and just brushed aside

thelegendarypsr, I agree with you. I rather his idea not get accepted or even considered. I think I noticed something you didn't though. He is new to VGR. so he doesn't know much of how anything works here. You say that he hasn't thought it through, but he might have thought it through while knowing nothing of the current situation of VGR. So it isn't much his fault for that. If he remains on VGR, he will learn in time why his idea isn't a good one.

That would be very cool.
.bmp and .png. I can't think of other formats at the moment.
Because:
When I make a screenshot from my PSP, it's in .bmp, almost 400kb.
When making screenshots of the printscreen or from a video in Ubuntu, they will be in png.
Converting a lot of pictures takes a lot of time.
Just uploading them in the format as they are is a fast way.
easy graphic converter is the best free program to convert pictures to jpg. jpg datas are always way smaller.

Have you considered that uploading video proof takes ages?Yes, but it's a small price to pay to ensure scoreboard integrity. Again, I think this should only be a requirement for maybe at most the top 3 scores. Pictures mean absolutely NOTHING. It is a joke to Photoshop/edit pictures.
Have you considered that the proof admins are already 2 weeks behind with proof, and that this system will double that?[/color]
I think the work load is pretty irrelevant to my critique. So you're saying people shouldn't have to give better proof because of the work load? You're essentially saying it's too much work to have things proven as legit. I'm not offering up a solution to the work load problem, but that's definitely a poor excuse.
Have you considered people don't want to wait 2 weeks for their score to go up?
You could still have their scores showing, but they should not be awarded points until they are proven legitimate.
Have you considered the change to the points formula that would be required?
While it's more work, the change in this case is a good thing IMO
Have you considered the video proof system isn't even active yet?
That's my entire point. I'm suggesting there should be one in place. Even if it's just a link to a youtube video. You guys dont need to do the hosting as it would obviously eat up a ton of bandwidth
Have you considered the fact that just because a score isn't proven, it doesn't mean it didn't happen? In most cases, the scores people are claiming are probably true. That being said, your scoreboard means nothing if you just go by people's word. Proof is imperative.

As a new member, the tone/snotty way in which you addressed my suggestion is a huge turn off.

In the Past in V5, before the V6, we had an option available to link a Record to Youtube or DailyMotion. It worked well before, but the problem was that sometimes the videos would be removed from the Hosting site for whatever reason and then that proof would be gone forever. VGR had no control of this, so the VGR team is trying to make it possible to host the videos here to avoid the problem I mentioned.
Also, I don't think that VGR should change the point system around what you suggest. If you don't believe a score that someone made, you can always make a topic about it. There are many players on VGR that would gladly show you a Youtube Video of their whole attempt at a Scores, since many do make Videos but can't directly post them for the Charts on VGR. We don't have to go to extremes right now.

I've got to say this is my biggest pet peeve with the site
http://www.vgr-fr.com/New-Super-Mario-Bros.-2-jeu-j3427.html
This game was recommended 3 days ago and got pushed through to be added recently
http://www.vgr-fr.com/Meal-Gear-Solid-HD-Collection-forum-t5621-p1.html
This game was recommended over a month ago, it has had no response
http://www.vgr-fr.com/-add-major-fix-Super-Monkey-Ball-2-NTSC-amp-Super-Monkey-Ball-2-PAL--forum-t5253-p1.html
These changes were suggested 6 months ago, and has had no response
This sort of behaviour is not fair on people who suggest games, especially when those users are highly active
I feel that games should be added on the order they were recommended, without exception, and I hope to get a response on the subject

For New Super Mario Bros. 2, it's a new and popular game, so it have to be treated in priority.
One month to add a game, it's long, but possible, normally it won't be long until the records are OK.
For Super Monkey Ball 2, 6 months is too long. It don't have to be possible to wait as long a that. I hope it will be edit narrowly.

Thank you Okami for answering me.
One month to have a game added isn't normally a problem for me. I understand during the summer holidays people are away. The problem I had was simply that a brand new game got added straight away while other people have had to wait for their game to even be ok'd, never mind added. The system really should be first come, first serve. If someone recommends a game before me, their's should be added first. It would not be fair on the other user if not.
6 months to edit a game, when plenty of games have been edited and added since is way too long. And even then, the game simply gets ignored, not even a reason why it's not been done.
It's a situation that I think needs to change around here

As I said, NSMB2 was an exception (because recently released and popular), else it have to be treated in order of suggestions.
viviengaetan is the only to do the long modifications, like that, and because ha have any things to do, he probably forget it.
I hope it's the last time we have to wait as long.

And I only can be on your side psr. Basically, we already discuss about this issue within the staff and we agreed to push up certain \"popular\" games before some other by majority.
Also, I need to tell you that this is a pain in the *** to change a game after its addition (after all that's why we didn't do them at all).
I wanted to make a script to allow us to add the long lists of records for a group but I have some issues and when I'll have time I'll give it another try. (That's also why the long ones are especially delayed, it need some hours of work...)
And last words, remember that new games take priority on the modifications.

That's absolutely fine. My own issue is that when people make recommendatiuons for a game to be changed it gets ignored without explanation. That's why I was getting annoyed and PM'd Bart in the galaxy topic who was just plain ignorant. At least you've now explained why they're not being looked at, which is fine.

Okay, I can understand that and it's a point I believe you have made before. This is one of my problems(but it's not your fault so don't think I'm having a go at you) - V6 was supposed to make things easier but, from a user's point of view, it seems to have made things harder. Games take ages to show up at times, modifications take forever, games are bugged, the formula is messed up, it would seem(again, from my point of view) that V6 has been an unmitigated disaster.

I feel bad in a way because we've had discussions about game adding before and it always seems to be you being the only one here doing anything, and your work is appreciated. Thank you for answering me anyway

You have an example ?MackyWacky00 :
I'm also bothered by the proofs ranking on the user's page when it says something like 5,654/4,056.
It's improper :|
I think it could count the total number of proof sent (if you send a proof then you beat your score and send a new proof, that maybe count 2 proofs).
