Are you sure that the Speed mode is only in miles per hour (mph) in this game? Because the metric system uses kmh (1 mile=1,6 kmh around, so for example 62 mph=100kmh), so it's more precise in VGR, it avoids tied records. The metric system is also part of the International System, most used in the world. So it's probably better to use kmh for records, if possible.
