Hello All. Pokémon GO (The Free Mobile Game) has been out for a while now and in many countries. There a lot of Stats and Numbers within the game, but I was wondering if there are possible records that could be valid for competition here on VGR. I looked for a few possible records and I managed to see some possibilities. I would like to see what the community thinks of these. -1 Possible Record could be the Highest CP of a Pokémon that you catch. there could be 1 Record for each of the 151 Pokémon currently in the game. The "Problem" here is that you can power up a Pokémon 2 times per your Trainer Level (which your Trainer Level caps at 40), so the CP does have a Maximum per level, but each Pokémon can have different Maximums at the same Trainer Levels because of their IV's (Individual Values that they are "Born" with). I don't see it too much of a problem as a record, but I included this to be informative. -Another Possible Record could be like the Main Game's "Biggest Magikarp Caught" records, but with all 151 Pokemon (or Just the 145 that we are able to catch without events, since the Event Pokémon will more than likely be the same CP, Size, and Weight) Pokémon GO does have a little marking next to Size and Weight if the Pokémon is Smaller or Bigger than the average of that species with labels like XS (Extra Small) and XL (Extra Large). Because of this, there is a possibility of 4 Record Groups: a "Heaviest Pokémon" group, a "Lightest Pokémon" group, a "Tallest Pokémon" group, and a "Shortest Pokémon" group. Each group would have 145 Records for all the available to catch Pokémon (excluding the event Pokémon). The "problem" here is that If someone has a pre-evolved Pokémon with the best Weight and/or Height, then When they evolve the Pokémon, then it might also have the best weight and/or height for that evolved Pokémon as well. (Though I have not evolved a single Pokémon yet to test and see if these stats remain in the same range of their Species) -There is 1 (or 2) record(s) that could also be added. The PokéDex stats: either just the number of Pokémon Caught (Unique) or also Pokémon Seen (Unique). Though these 2 are cumulative, they do have a Maximum. Most other stats are Cumulative with No Maximum, so I do not recommend their discussion, like Distance Walked, Total Pokemon Caught, Number of Pokemon Evolved, Number of Eggs Hatched, etc. I personally would love to have some of these on VGR. It would give a bit more to do on Pokémon GO as well (as many people complain that there isn't much more to do in the game). Having Records for this Popular Game on VGR could help attract more players. Let me know what you guys think.

Another thing for the CP is that beginners will have a hard time finding/getting high CP pokemon. Also, in later updates there will be TRADING.

That should not be a factor to stop this from being a record, though the Trading feature will surely be a problem that I didn't remember... Thank you for reminding me of this. With Trading, all these records (except for maybe the PokéDex ones) will be near useless... :well: I will wait to see what others think.

For the moment trading is just a dream. Correct me if i'm wrong but in the first PoKéMoN game we can see the ID of the player on all monsters no? I'm sure that adding Pokémon GO in some way on VGR can boost the whole website by researching on Google "Pokémon GO Records" or something like that...

We could have the records if they're able to show the Id of the trainer who caught that pokemon. But for now we either risk having not so many players join OR we have lots of players joining but may have fake pokemon:damn:

I think the Original Games did have Trainer ID's. We should not worry too much about "fake" Pokémon because there are always a few fake records coming into VGR. We just need to keep an eye out for them and not let them stay too long. If anything seems suspicious, we should ask for proof. If that isn't enough, then Calling them out on the forums to provide information on about their device to prove that they have not rooted/Jailbroken or hacked their device. Even with Trading, do we really think it is necessary for the player to have caught it themselves? I would prefer it that way, but, when the trading update comes, what if there isn't a way to prove that it wasn't a trade? Will we just automatically give up on these records?

I think this is the best way to add pokemon go in this site

Partner pokemon are out , tho, i haven't updated it yet so i don't know the ins and outs of it XP i think if the cp was beside the pokemon when looking at the trainer then it would be much easier to prove ^_^
You only need to take a screenshot before evolving it right? I think this is the best way to add pokemon go in this site
Yes. You can just take a screenshot for a Pokémon's Height and Weight before you evolve them, but what I mean is that if they have, for example, a Pidgey that is The Heaviest and Tallest, Will they also have the Heaviest and Tallest Pidgeotto and Pidgeot when they evolve that same Pidgey? I hope that its Size and Weight are not completely transferred over. I mean transferred over as in have the same "percentage" or "Grade". I think I can explain it better: Let's say a Pokémon A1 has a Max Height of 3'4". Its evolution (A2) has a Max Height of 5'4". If I evolve A1, which has the Maximum height possible for A1, will it then Always under every possible chance evolve into an A2 with Maximum height of 5'4"? or will it's height and Weight change since it is a new Pokémon. I know IV's Stay the same. In Humans, different stages of life have different growth rates and it varies between people. I don't know if Nintendo or Niantic just "transfers" a Pre-evolved Pokémon's Height and Weight over to their evolved form, or if a new height and weight is calculated.
its randomly generated from each evolution lets say pidgy is 30 lbs, when it evolve it can be 3 lbs XD
That is good. That means each Pokémon CAN be its own Record without the same person having the Best Records of each of a Pokémon's Evolution.

No trade option has been added... Gen 2 is out... Should we be thinking about adding these?

So? We should add every pokemon, with every statistic? (now there is the 2nd gen!)

Yeah, it would be an awesome idea. They also added more pokemon in rural zones so everyone can compete without big differences beetween locations.
