Earth Defense Force is the correct name according to Wikipedia ans other websites :

But it's called Super E.D.F. is Japan, so it should be renamed to :
[b]Earth Defense Force / Super E.D.F.[/b]
The game has also been released on the [b]Virtual Console[/b], it should be added as a gaming platform.

The real name for the Snes version is Super E.D.F. Earth Defense Force.
This is the same name in Europe, US and Japan.
Earth Defense Defense is the name of the arcade version.
On virtual console, this is the snes version.
So, theses modifications are ok. Topic archived.
