All bad things on VGR

Ya that's what I meant. I want to make a video for Mario Kart 8 since that's the game that's requesting proofs for me. The only problem is that the game does not store Lap records, just 3 flaps, so I can only prove my current 40 times that are 3lap times. I don't believe I'll play lap times again though because the online community for this game doesn't bother with them at the moment. Who should I give my video to?

Best lap times in the Mario Kart community are considered to be your fastest possible lap you can make, meaning using 3 mushrooms in that lap. For regular times (3 lap runs) the fastest strategies are generally using 1 mushroom a lap. So my best laps are not in my 3 lap PRs. It's also very possible for a best lap time to not be in your current 3 lap PR also. For example:

Lap 1: 46.000
Lap 2: 45.000
Lap 3: 44.667

Total: 2:15.667

Then you set a new 3 lap record like this:

Lap 1: 45.333
Lap 2: 45.000
Lap 3: 45.000

Total: 2:15.333

Your 3 lap time improved, but your best single lap was in your previous 3 lap run and therefore by uploading a picture of your new 3 lap time you aren't actually posting your best record. This game does not save best lap times, unlike the first 6 Mario Kart games. Mario Kart 7 does not save best laps either.

If like you said, you have no lap record saved, to enter to the competition you must redo all races, so it's not a big deal to upload your proof at this moment

There should not even be a lap record to be saved because the game does not store this record at all. The same goes for Mario Kart 7. I got my lap records by doing a run, and when I got a satisfactory lap time I would write down my lap time and then I submitted them here. I will never update my lap records anyway because they aren't important at all. Most of them I could beat relatively easily but it took me literally a day to get some decent laps to send in. It's just irritating to send in a picture for all my new records when I proved all of them (except the lap records which I don't plan on playing again anyway) up to this point with a video.

Can't we get rid of lap times for MK7 and MK8 completely? The official Mario Kart 8 Player's Page does not even have flaps either: http://mariokart64.com/mk8/profile.php?pid=16

It makes sense for older Mario Kart games because they actually store your records on a screen. For MKW you can see it here: http://www.wii-records.com/en-us/records_view.php?record_id=192501

MK8 doesn't save any of these records so I don't think we should even have them.

I understand your point of view but on VGR, a record does not need to be saved to be accepted on a game.
By the way, lap records are a kind of "normal" for a racing game especially for Mario Kart series.

Personally speaking, nintendo's are wrong to skipping the save feature for this charts in their last games..

Since you're doing fast laps for MK8 I'll just point out that Big Blue is a sector track and therefore needs a fast lap time for each section (it only has 1 now). For now I sent in my sector 2 time since it's the shortest one.

We all know that we had a great decrease on activity in 2015, admins could be demotivated, to do extra work for same results of traffic on the page.
There's also a banner for the New Year, and we didn't see it this time.

It seems to me that there are only four members who can access the banner (and more generally the management of the site): magicbart, kloh, niconoe and viviengaetan. They are unfortunately not present, none of them is connected to the site in the last two weeks ...

There is little chance that they read your messages, the best thing to do is to send a private message ... or contact them by other means (Skype, Facebook, Xbox 360 / One, PlayStation 3/4...).

Last time I checked for the banner, I saw the image should change depending on the date. It may have an issue in the code, I'm gonna look at it.

About admin presence, I admit we are less present. We're working on a new (totally recoded) version for several months now and we don't progress as fast as we'd like.

Moreover, during last months and weeks, niconoe and magicbart both had to face some serious personal issues in their respective families so they had to take a break.

On my side, I still work on website to make games pictures too. I'm the only one making them for years now and I keep making them as soon as they are new games coming.

Some things are in French even when you have selected English for the site language. (Tournament information and some error messages.)

Also, Is it possible to have time stamps or comments on records?
