New Medal (Platinum?)

Can Someone Explain to Me What The Platinum Medals Work and What They Are For? I Tried To Figure It Out, But Couldn't Find What It Is For...

you earn a gold medal for being in 1st place on a chart.
you earn a platinum medal if that gold medal meets two criteria.
1. It can not be tied with other players.
2. The chart must have at least 2 people on it.

Right Before I Saw Your Post, I Just Had Realized This And Then Thought Maybe Somebody Replied To My Post. haha. Alvin and The Chipmunks: The Squeakquel was My Perfect Example. :)

I've one question

If you've got a platinum medal, you've got the gold too? or the gold is just for tie?

If you've got a platinum medal, yes you've got a gold medal too. Look (thx Dark Eon for your example :p)
Dark has 44 post, and he has 42 platinum and 44 gold. ;)
